The Development Youth Movement Assembly in Mindanao (DYMAM), a member organization of the Alliance of Bangsamoro for Peace and Sustainable Development, Inc.(ABPSD, Inc.) and lead organization in the ABPSD-Partnership on Youths Affairs for Development are conducting series of meetings and dialogues at the ABPSD Conference Room in Cotabato City, started last March 15, 2009. The officers of the association and its affiliates shared issues on the educational development in the Bangsamoro homeland. Initially, the group had established four (4) arabic schools (Madrasah) with the following sites: (1) Barangay Dicaya (Katidtuan), Kabuntalan (Mother), Maguindanao; (2) Sitio Kakar, Barangay Katidtuan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao; (3) Barangay Lower Bager, Pigcawayan, Cotabato; and (4) Barangay Rosary Heights (Mother) in Cotabato City; and "Halaqath" -Qur'anic Memorization in Poblacion (Mother) and Kalanganan 2, Cotabato City. Further, for the cultural development initiatives, the DYMAM organized its "Cultural Group", named as "Mga Nguda Sa Inged" - "The Youths of the Place".
The group (DYMAM) started their program with limited resources from the members pocket and utilized their members (qualified brothers and siters) for the needed staffs in the operation of the arabic schools. Later, the group requested support from the mother organization. The ABPSD, Inc. provided the group with technical support , such as exposing the group into community development activities, trainings and conferences; and minimal material support.
With the group experiences in the past operations, they decided to digest and improve the organization programs and activities, where the series of meetings and conferences are conducted. From that, they agreed to improve the instruction of the madrasah, capacity building for the asatids (teachers), physical facilities and school-community relations as a means to improve the learning processes for the pupils. Further, the formation of the "Mga Nguda Sa Inged" basically founded on the cultural development of the Bangsamoro people, designed an advocacy program through indigenous music. The group acquired some musical instruments for the advocacy program funded from the members' contributions. In furtherance, the group is working for the acquisition of additional musical instruments and documentation of the composed musics.
